David Lieder Loses It in an E-Mail

Some people still don't get that the web is a distribution medium where anything they say or do can be published and shared with the world. David Lieder is one of these people. He contacted me and asked if I was willing to fill a job opening he had (I'm assuming he's performing the recruiter role rather than actually hiring). I promptly and politely let him know that I wasn't interested and thanked him for getting in touch with me. A few exchanges later, and David decided that this was an appropriate response:

"Well why don't you put that on your website instead of showing your ass to the world and wasting my time."

Somehow David Leider thinks that I'm obligated to be interested in any offer he has because I've chosen to publish some of my knowledge and experience. How very odd, wouldn't you say?

Hi Marios. Where are you located? What price would you come to work for a startup with at least a one year commitment/contract as the VP of Project Management? The admin offices are probably going to move to Columbus, the programming staff (and 10 project managers) is in the Ukraine but communicate well in English using our global office communication apps, and the company builds web apps on a proprietary platform, plus working on a replacement for Windows 2003 that works on Mac, Linux, or Windows, with the assumption that Windows is on its way out. The start time would be about nine months from now.

Are you available to do consulting for a few days, and what would that cost? Or to do a one day session with our project managers, etc.

Or, how much to get you to go to Europe for a week and teach our project managers there about all your great insight and project management wisdom?

So Who Is David Lieder?

A little digging with Google didn't reveal all that much. David seems to own two properties on the web including this one which doesn't seem to be quite complete. Regardless of where I click, I get a blank page. David's other site is here, but it too seems incomplete. However, it does seem that Mr. Lieder is, "the founder, composer, producer and main performer of Grakoth."

Aha! I've figured out why David lost it in his e-mail to me. "Grakoth [David I'm assuming] is not doing media interviews at this time, due to harassment by the Paparazzi and Tabloids. He is in hiding in a secret island community." Yes, that explains his less than professional behavior.
